When you are considering renewing your van insurance policy, there are 3 levels of van insurance available, which you will be required to choose between. Before starting to look for quotes, it is important to decide which level of cover you require.
The most basic level of insurance cover for your vehicle is Third Party cover. This is the minimum level of insurance cover for a vehicle, as required by UK law. A Third Party insurance policy provides cover of your liability, ensuring compensation is available, in the instance of the injury or death of another person (third party); this includes other people in your van, or your liability if you damage a third party’s property.
Most insurers offer policies which provide a greater level of cover than Third Party, such as Third Party Fire and Theft and Fully Comprehensive, but the details of these policies vary between companies. Ensure you read the small print, so that you understand what is covered by your policy.
In order to get the best deal, make sure you don’t just focus on price. A cheaper quote may not provide you with the level of cover you need.
